Symbolic Wedding at Villa Orlando
Many years ago, in an ancient era, I couldn’t go a day without getting on a motorcycle. It was more than just a passion, an incredible desire to go and discover new places. It may seem strange, but in those distant years, I saw for the first time the landscapes that later became the protagonists of many of my photos.
The villages of Tuscany, like the villas of Lucchesia, were the destinations of many “rides” in that bygone era. I believe it was the desire to tell the story of what I experienced while going and seeing these places that created my desire to photograph.
During that time, I rode with a company that was led by Cavalier Aldovardi, a super organizer of motorcyclists. In that group of riders, I met Ilaria, the protagonist of this wedding. It was curious to photograph her dressed as a bride because until the last minute, I thought she would show up with a leather jacket.
Ilaria and Marco chose a symbolic wedding, a ceremony in which a couple celebrates their love and commitment to each other symbolically, without the legal formality of marriage. It is a popular option for couples who want to celebrate their love in a non-conventional way, often in romantic and suggestive places.
