Wedding at Villa di Maiano – Florence

Jonathan and Salomè – Wedding at Villa di Maiano

Sweet Tuscan hills looking towards Florence, the dome standing out towards the sky as the air trembles from the heat of a blazing summer.

I was on the terrace of the Italian garden of Villa di Maiano, holding my camera with a telephoto lens, on the other side of the ceremony area was Martina, and halfway down the path was Michael trying not to
enter Fulvio Greco‘s shots.

For a moment, I thought I was on the other side of the Mediterranean. It could have been the temperature or the huge and geometric expanse of Kippah, but for a moment, it seemed likeI was in the plain of Jerusalem with its olive trees instead of the hills of Fiesole.

This is because today, worlds and cultures come closer together, and truly, the “where” becomes increasingly relative.

Dettagli tavolo matrimonio villa di Maiano

A Jewish outdoor wedding in the estate of Villa di Maiano. The setup, curated by Stefania Zen, was characterized by a mirrored path that accompanied the couple to the ceremony location.

The beauty of this setup that combines flowers and decor can be appreciated in the drone footage capturing the mix of
the sun-drenched terracotta ground and the freshness of the flower decorations.

In this wedding, the entire outdoor space of the villa was utilized. For example, dinner was served in the upper garden around the well. In front of the entrance, a large wooden dance floor was set up for the
occasion.

The musical performance was the highlight of the evening, with a series of French artists taking the stage.

The bride’s preparation was curated by Sandra Lovisco of My Wedding Mirror. The bride chose to prepare in the exquisite setting of the Hotel Salviatino, which was a prestigious Stanford University campus until
the 1980s.
